 EVE: Source is a nice book that fills in the backstory of the Eve Online. Old-timers will probably get the most out of this information-laden guide to the sci-fi universe.The book doesn't talk about the game, but it covers the lore, about 10 years worth since the game was released in 2003.The content is grouped into the different existing factions, with a little introduction to New Eden. Each faction is presented with history, politics, traits and people. It's pretty much a world-building kind of book. What we have here is a tightly woven sci-fi lore collection.It's a large 200-page hardcover. I've read other reviews commenting on the book's spine. It uses perfect binding, stitched and glued. Mine looks alright so far.Oh, there are many beautiful sci-fi art included. Spaceships, worlds, glamour shots of the factions. If you're a lore nerd who plays or has played EVE Online, get this. It's well written with a number of stories and quite a few stunning pictures, as well as facts on all the factions who live in New Eden. It's not going to tell you how to get space rich or how to blow up that guy (You know the one), but it is a good read.

I know nothing of this game, but I got it for a die-hard fan of EVE who was very excited because this book was included in another collectors edition (that was too expensive for him to get) or something like that. I skimmed through it just to see what it was about and it had mostly text, definitely a more story backdrop to the game in comparison to a concept book.

This is a high quality well written book. A must have for anyone that enjoys the story behind EVE.

A great read and more history of the EVE cosmos than you'd ever get in the game. For RPG and backstory geeks, this one's a winner. I have just about all the EVE books out there, and this is hands down the best one. An actual read--not just a pretty coffee table book--though it has great illustrations too.

Eve Source is a compilation of the lore of Eve Online. Eve Online is more than a video game. It is in fact a virtual world where the players themselves have nearly as much control over the society, institutions, and market economy as the company that writes the software. One thing that attracts people to Eve Online is it's rich lore of history, political factions, races, and technology.The hardcover Eve Source book is a beautifully bound volume with large displays of artwork. It incorporates a large amount of information about the factions, technology, ships, and culture of Eve. There are also a few short stories to illustrate the difference between cultures. Eve players will find this an interesting read. This is the game board upon which the players of the game create the true plot.The only criticism of Eve Source is that you could browse through a few hundred web pages and read a few novels set in the Eve universe to find 95% of the information in this book. It's a convenient compilation, but has little new information.
