About the Author
Hae-Geon Lee received his B.E. degree from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, 1970 in Metallurgical Engineering; and Ph. D. from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, 1983 in Materials Engineering. Professor Lee s academic career began at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia in 1988. After serving for about 10 years, he moved to POSTECH in 1997, and has served as a professor of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Dean of Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology, and Director of Technology Innovation for Metals and Materials. He is currently a professor of Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology where he leads Clean Steel Technology. Professor Lee is currently devoting himself to developing a new innovative process of steelmaking and understanding atomistic principles of interfacial reactions between ionic and non-polar immiscible liquids at high temperatures.
